Greetings, my dear Purrfumery friends!

We are entering the season of love, with Imbolc - the Gaelic holiday marking the halfway point between winter and spring - just behind us, and warm sunny days returning here in Northern California. The migrating Monarch butterflies have been dancing through the Purrfumerry garden, and the birds all seem to be singing love songs. So much is in bloom!  

We are celebrating Valentine’s day this year with a few special offers, and a showcase of all things Rose, from the Purrfumery collection.

Everything’s Coming Up Roses

Roses are a gorgeous, timeless staple in both the Purrfumery garden & workshop. Their fragrance and bloom is enchanting, and they have long been associated with romance, shifting phases of life, and of course Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty. Though they are an ingredient in many Purrfumery blends, I’ve picked a few perfumes that really celebrate their exquisite scent in honor of Valentine’s Day.

Bed of Roses - A bed of a thousand roses blooms in this voluptuous bouquet, containing a hand-blended selection of nine rare rose materials. In a review on CaFleurBon, Monica Miller said “If you would like romance to be bottled, and I believe it has been, then Bed of Roses is the scent for you.”

Pangolin Violette Rose - Pangolin Violette Rose is my second limited edition perfume dedicated to helping endangered species come back and thrive in the world we all share. In his review for Fragrantica, Matt Morris shared “Pangolin Violette Rose is quite simply Sumptuous. It is a brilliant example of what is possible when impossibly beautiful materials are utilized in perfumery: Nature’s glory.” Both the solid and oil based perfumes are particularly Violet and green, while the alcohol based parfum leans more Rose.

Honey - The sweet partnership between flowers and bees begins with an elaborate dance and finishes with Honey extrait de parfum, one of the Purrfumery’s best-selling Signature Scents. Beth Schreibman Gehring, of Perfume-Smellin’ Things, said “‘Honey’ is a completely erotic masterpiece…It is bewitching, a bottled love potion, and how you unleash it is up to you.”

Jewelery of Heaven - Organic jasmine grandiflorum and Turkish and Himalayan roses intertwine in a deep, meditative scent. Jewelry of Heaven is as languorously sensual as it is serene.

Highway - A winding road of citrus, berries, cedarwood, vanilla, and blue spruce. “‘Highway’  is a perfume that speaks to the romantic, restless part of all of us that longs to be swept away, to sit by an open fire in the Scottish highlands drinking fine whisky or making love under the stars” - Beth Schreibman Gehring, of Perfume-Smellin’Things

A Shout-out

I’d like to honor my new friend Andrew, who is a perfume and cologne reviewer, mostly based on instagram. Andrew has been posting the most fabulous features of my perfumes over the past few months, among many other perfumes & colognes. I highly recommend you check his videos out - they are a true joy to watch!
