Each year perfumer Laurie Stern creates a limited collection of liquid perfume using some of the rarest, most expensive ingredients in the world. Because these ingredients are so rarely attainable, these perfumes are like wines of an exceptional vintage – their scent is unique to the time and place each blossom was harvested.

Narcissus Poeticus limited edition liquid perfume with packaging

Originally planted by the Buddhist monks whose temples dwelled in the valley, osmanthus trees now fill China's beautiful, scent-filled Manjuelong Valley. Without exception each household in the valley now has their own grove of osmanthus trees, and villagers here have been supported by the osmanthus flower since the Ming Dynasty. Each autumn the valley bursts into pale splendor as the osmanthus blooms, and the valley holds and Osmanthus Festival to celebrate this amazing white and gold flower with the sweet, ethereal, fruity scent, sipping tea made from osmanthus petals and easting sugary, floral cakes made from the blossoms.

This blend captures the romance of the first blooms of spring, weaving rare spring-blooming jonquille (Narcissus poeticus) and French violets with green limes and mandarins. Iris bulbs and osmanthus from the valley of osmanthus in China imbue this perfume with spring’s promise of the future as the earth comes to life once more.
